June 2017 Carlos Trenado from Duesseldorf University Hospital visits us on a Short-Term Scientific Mission grant to work on “Stochastic resonance in auditory spatial discrimination and its possible implications for tinnitus”, supported by the TINNET grant.
We are preparing the 3rd Workshop on Cognitive neuroscience of auditory and cross-modal perception, to be held on May 29-31, 2017 in Košice

March 2017 New paper “Streaming and sound localization with a preceding distractor” by Norbert Kopčo, Gabriela Andrejková, Virginia Best and Barbara Shinn-Cunningham was accepted for publication in The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America Express Letters.
Feb 2017 Eleni Vlahou was awarded a Short-Term Scientific Mission grant to work on a videogame that improves tinnitus symptoms using spatial hearing training with virtual auditory display techniques, in collaboration with colleagues from the TINNET consortium.
Feb 2017 We were awarded a new grant to study Plasticity of spatial processing in normal and cochlear implant hearing, in collaboration with our colleagues at the Austrian Academy of Science and Charles University.

Sept 2016 A new paper “Intracortical depth analyses of frequency-sensitive regions of human auditory cortex using 7T fMRI” by Ahveninen, Chang, Huang, Keil, Kopco, Rossi, Bonmassar, Witzel, and Polimeni accepted for publication in NeuroImage.
We gained access to powerful computational infrastructure within the Slovak national project Data center for science and research (a multi-cpu cluster with Matlab and SAS)
Our lab joins TINNET: An Action for Better Understanding the Heterogeneity of Tinnitus to Improve and Develop New Treatments, a European research network funded by the COST program under the Action number BM1306.
New paper on “ITD-based modeling of speech localization in a multi-talker mixture usingperiodicity and energy-based auditory features” by Josupeit, Kopco, and Hohmann accepted for publication in JASA.
