17 April:

Thanks for another set of interesting sessions yesterday (and for uploading pics). Today, everything is according to schedule.

SAV leaders: today’s Tokaj lunch should probably be a SAV business meeting as well (only Erick missing – can be on skype 🙂 ). Or, if everybody is her for dinner, we can plan a SAV business meeting then.

Tokaj trip today: please make sure that you definitely update your final decision about whether 1) you are coming, 2) joining the wine tasting, 3) your lunch choice by 10am today. Also, please have 20EUR ready for Peto to pay for your transportation. Note that we will have a microbus + several cars to get us there. So you can select your car companions (we will need to fit 8 people into microbus and 3-4 people per car + driver). You can also think about whether you want to see the Borša kaštiel (which apparently also has a VR presentation about Rakoczi) or walk to the viewing tower after the tasting. We’ll be heading back at the latest at 5p (in Kosice at 6p).

Tomorrow: the weather forecast has improved, so Tatras are back on. The default option is to take the gondola lift to Skalnate pleso lake and then hike back down to Tatranska lomnica (or just walk around the pleso and the surroundings and take the gondola back down). But it’s definitely fine to just do a free easy hike from Tatranska Lomnica uphill and back and then hang out in Lomnica (eg at the hotel Grand). Think about your preference. We would head back to Kosice at 4p (arriving at 6p).

16 April:

Directions for how to get to the library (called Študovňa Angely Merici) for the afternoon posters+demos session are here (they start at the 2nd floor lobby above the entrance to the building; it’s a fairly long walk, don’t get lost).

A reminder to talk presenters to come to your chair person prior to your session and upload your talk to the presentation computer (or test your laptop audio/video).

Photos from the workshop can be viewed and added by you to this album (group photo is already in there, and it looks good so we’ll skip taking a second one).

Don’t forget to sign up for the lunch and the guided tour (the rain is predicted to stop by the afternoon). Afterwards, people can meet e.g. at Golem pub at 18:30.

15 April:

Arrival: To get to the lecture room once you enter Jesenna 5, follow this picture and signs posted in the building.

Reminder regarding the lunch pre-ordering and Wednesday Tokaj trip: please, make your selections (don’t just say yes). For today’s lunch, indicate your preference by 9:30a, for Tokaj by today 13:00.

Don’t forget about the group photo (16:30) and welcome reception (18:00).

Invited lecturers: signing your contracts is today at 13:00.

14 April:

Today @2pm, people already in Košice can join for the Botanical garden tour followed by some beers. If you are coming late and want to join the group, you can contact the organizers to find out where we are (see Outings).

12 April:

Welcome to our workshop! This News & Updates section is our primary way of communicating with you. Each day, we’ll plan to update it by 8 am.

Please review the information for presenters below, as well as the schedule (and let us know if you have any conflicts).

There are several outings planned. E.g., you can join us already on Sunday if you are in Kosice. See the Outings section bellow. Importantly, if you want to join us for the Tokaj trip on Wednesday, we’ll need to have a head-count on that by Monday. Please sign up using the excel sheet (also sign up for lunch and other outings there). Also you can join a Whatsapp group to communicate/coordinate with each other (mainly about the social events).

Upon your arrival, please sign your name on the registration form. Also, pick up your badge (write your name on one and wear it).
